Call for Applications: “Activity as the Key to Change”

The West Pomeranian Folk University invites you to participate in the new project: “Activity as the Key to Change”, co-financed by the European Funds for West Pomerania 2021–2027.

🟢 Project Implementers:
🔹West Pomeranian Folk University – Foundation

Target group:
✔ 50 individuals (30 women and 20 men) who are professionally inactive and/or at risk of poverty or social exclusion, residing in:

  • Szczecin,
  • Police,
  • Stargard,
  • Świnoujście,
  • Gryfino.

📍 Participation criteria:

1. Professional inactivity due to:

  • Retirement,
  • Studying or acquiring qualifications,
  • Illness or disability,
  • Family responsibilities or running a household.

2. Risk of poverty or social exclusion, including:

  • Individuals or families receiving social assistance in accordance with the Act of 12 March 2004 on Social Assistance,
  • Persons eligible for social assistance by meeting at least one of the conditions listed in Article 7 of the above-mentioned Act, such as:
    • Poverty,
    • Orphanhood,
    • Homelessness,
    • Unemployment,
    • Disability,
    • Long-term or serious illness,
    • Domestic violence,
    • Need for maternity or large family protection,
    • Helplessness in running a household,
    • Integration difficulties for foreigners,
    • Difficulties after leaving prison,
    • Alcohol or drug addiction,
    • Random events, crisis situations, natural or ecological disasters,
  • Persons with disabilities,
  • Household members caring for dependent persons,
  • Persons under temporary protection in Poland (e.g. due to the war in Ukraine).

3. Co-residing persons – adults and children, related or unrelated, living and running a household with project participants who meet any of the above criteria, regardless of education, gender, or labor market status.

The goal of the project is the social and professional integration of 50 Project Participants (30 women and 20 men) who are professionally inactive and at risk of poverty and/or social exclusion, residing in Szczecin, Police, Stargard, Świnoujście, and Gryfino, from 01.11.2024 to 31.03.2026.

What do we offer participants?

🔹 Interpersonal development training
🔹 Individual psychological therapy
🔹 Vocational training and internships (with certificates!)
🔹 Legal and career counseling
🔹 Integration outings to the cinema, theater, outdoor and sports workshops.

Additionally, each participant will receive: ● Training stipend for the duration of vocational training
● Internship stipend for the duration of professional internship
● Reimbursement of travel expenses from the place of residence to the support location and back
● Access to care for dependent persons during participation in various support forms
● Refreshments during coffee breaks
● Training materials
● Accident insurance (NNW) during the project period

Persons with disabilities will have access to accessibility services such as a sign language interpreter or a personal assistant.

📈 Project results: ✅ At least 40 people will increase their social activity, e.g., through starting education, gaining motivation and confidence, volunteering;
✅ At least 15 people will find employment, improving their financial situation and independence;
✅ 50 people will raise their qualifications by completing training, courses, and obtaining certificates and diplomas.
Additionally, the project will include persons from participants’ surroundings to enhance their chances for social integration.

💰 Total cost of participation: 0 PLN!
The project is co-financed by the European Funds.

Total eligible project expenditure: 1,036,740.44 PLN
EU co-financing amount: 984 903,42 PLN
